POOL C GAME 1: THE NETHERLANDS v ITALY

The first game of the day for the Dutchmen was out on Field B, up against EU Cup first timers Italy.

Although starting 2 goals down on handicap, the Dutchmen came out firing to even the scores, but not before Irish midfielder James Flavin experienced first hand why the Italians should stick to soccer. An accidental but nonetheless dangerous kick to the head left James bloodied, but it didn't dampen his spirits for the day.

It soon became clear that the Dutchmen were a much classier team, kicking seven unanswered goals and keeping the Italians goal-less for the game.
