POOL C GAME 3: THE NETHERLANDS v GERMANY
To the Dutch players, this was our Grand Final. In order to progress into the tournament top 4, we first had to overcome the mighty German outfit, who were favourites to win Pool C and progress to the familiar Semi Finals where they have been in each EU Cup so far.
The 2 goal margin appeared more difficult to track down as the Germans got away quickly, and inaccurate kicking meant the Dutchmen struggled early and were still behind at the half time break. In the second half the Dutchmen straightened up, and with about 30 seconds to go in the game, a rushed behind put the Dutch in front by a single point, which was enough to secure a Semi-final spot and send Germany tumbling into the unfamiliar 5-8 position playoffs
