GRAND FINAL: THE NETHERLANDS v ENGLAND
Although having beaten the home country Croatia out of a Grand Final position, it was obvious that the crowd favourites were the boys in the orange and blue.
The organisers had to quickly arrange a copy of Het Wilhelmus, not expecting that the Dutch national anthem would be required come 17:30.
A clearly over-staffed England team, the favourite of the tournament officials, were not expecting to play the Dutch team in the final, and it took them a few minutes to work out that the Dutch were not here just to make up the numbers. At half time, the Dutch had clawed back some of the 2 goal advantage, with the English leading by just one straight kick at the main break.
However in the second half, the Dutch boys who had played the best football all day ran out of energy, allowing the English Dragonslayers to walk away with their second consecutive EU Cup trophy.
